My warrior princess, tabby cat, Xena, is in grave trouble.
Xena went missing around the 31st of December 2020 for about a week. After checking with all the vets and shelters I had given up hope. I heard the faintest cry outside one day, and I knew it was her. She was a bloody mess with a broken arm. I rushed her to the vet. She had an X-ray and the vet also discovered a large gash on her inner thigh. The vet said that because of the scar tissue and healing around the wound, she had been injured for a few days! But Xena is clearly a survivor and through all the pain, made her way home.
She had surgery to her shoulder and had two pins placed, as well scores of stitches to her other wounds.
Even though I work for Citivet Gardens part time, and receive a discount, the bills are racking up. She will will need another surgery to remove the pins soon.
Xena is a rescue cat, she was bought off a homeless person and brought into the vet where I work. She was worse for wear and my home was supposed to be a temporary foster shelter while the vet looked for a forever home for her. I fell in love with her and she's been with me ever since.
I own a pet care and dog training small business, Four Little Paws (www.fourlittlepaws.co.za) and as you can imagine, COVID -19 has left everyone reeling. I have lost a great deal of business and will struggle to pay off the R10 000+ bill. While this will be a labour of love, I really need your help. Xena is a very special animal and I can't imagine life without her. And she really deserved the best care available.
